Tratatul despre Calea de Mijloc (Madhyamakasastra) este cea mai veche sinteza a sutrelor din "Perfectiunea Intelepciunii" (Prajnaparamita). Influenta acestei opere inegalabile nu s-a atenuat nicicand de-a lungul secolelor, in China la fel ca si in Japonia sau in sfera gandirii indo-tibetane. Constituie textul prin excelenta capital pentru cine vrea sa porneasca pe calea eliberarii din ciclu si sa aiba acces la revolutia pe care un astfel de demers o cere.
A intreprinde o exegeza completa a filozofiei Caii de Mijloc, a scolilor si a deosebirilor dintre ele, a controversei dintre Chandrakirti si Bhavaviveka si a multor altora care s-au iscat de-a lungul secolelor si continua pana in zilele noastre privind semnificatia ultima a gandirii lui Nagarjuna, sensul celor doua adevaruri, textele cu sens provizoriu si cele cu sens definitiv, "statutul" vacuitatii si al conventiilor, toate acestea nu pot fi dezvoltate aici: ar fi necesar sa li se consacre cel putin cateva volume. Aici se ofera doar textul de baza impreuna cu interpretarea lui Tsongkhapa: Oceanul rationamentului, si al lui Chone Drakpa Chedrub (1675-1748): Un vas pentru a te avanta pe "Oceanul rationamentului", care, in ciuda scurtimii sale, ramane fidel maestrului. Aceasta exegeza particulara, cea a traditiei Gelugpa din budismul tibetan, intemeiata de Tsongkhapa (1357-1419), insista asupra validitatii conventiilor ca simple relativitati si a existentei fenomenelor ca simple specificatii, vide de natura proprie si interdependente. Dupa textele ce au fost adunate in canonul budist, acest tratat este considerat de o importanta covarsitoare in intelegerea esentei doctrinei propovaduite de Buddha.

Ebook Nagarjuna: The Philosophy of the Middle Way read Online! Acharya Nāgārjuna (Telugu: నాగార్జున) (c. 150 - 250 CE) was an Indian philosopher and the founder of the Madhyamaka school of Mahāyāna Buddhism.

His writings are the basis for the formation of the Madhyamaka school, which was transmitted to China under the name of the Three Treatise (Sanlun) School. He is credited with developing the philosophy of the Prajnaparamita sutras, and was closely associated with the Buddhist university of Nalanda. In the Jodo Shinshu branch of Buddhism, he is considered the First Patriarch.
