Read full description of the books:

First thing first, I am not going to categorize this as urban fantasy/fantasy ... even with the main character being a Mage but the story is very light and easy to read. So I think of it as light read instead.

The main character is Darakin, an elemental mage who is pulled into our realm after a botched attempt of demon summoning. While trying to make his way of understanding our realm, Darakin makes friends with a cat named Mrowley, and later on finds love with an illegal Irish, named Nora. The story is very easy to follow. There is no vampires, shifters, or gruesome fights ... simply a mage who is trying to fit in, in a world where technology rules (instead of mage). It's like Encino Man coming to the future.

The first few chapters are truly hilarious. I cannot stop laughing to read about Darakin's mishaps and his confusion with the "mechanical beast" (car) or how to light fire. This is kept pretty constant throughout. I mean, some of the stories with similar theme makes the character understands our world quickly. Not Darakin though. He still wonders about subway, cinema, coffee maker, matches, and don't start on our way of talking! He just doesn't understand it out of the blue. However, while it serves entertainment, but after awhile, I'm getting bored too. I guess it stops being funny after awhile.

The cat, Mrowley, provides the best entertainment though. Ms. Difar writes about cat's antic perfectly! Including how he repeatedly gets hungry or how he can be crazy without reason. He's a cat with ADD *grin*.

Nora, on the other hand, is pretty two-dimensional. She doesn't come as too appealing for me, except for giving romance to Darakin. Her being quickly jealous is not helping her case with me either.

It's an okay read ... and since it comes under $1 for a Kindle book, definitely not a waste of money.
